From the Introduction of What’s This Life For?

There are literally countless belief frameworks in which to choose from to live one’s life by. In many of these cases, the “belief framework” would not be perceived and interpreted as such; instead, it would be perceived and interpreted as actual conditions of reality. Still yet, there are also those who naturally live their best life without any conscious deliberation of the matter at all.

Realize that there was a part of you which was born “knowing” the part of the world you were born into was “ready” for you to come into it. You were to come here and grow into your “most realized self;” irrespective of whether or not you were conscious of this process or not. You were, and still are, to “grow your own value fulfillment.”

By doing this, you will not only make the world a better place to live in for us all, it is how your soul evolves. What is a soul? On this paper, it is just a word; yet, what it represents is a part of you that is eternal, and whose very definition transcends simple stories of beginnings and endings, good and evil, or heaven and hell.

I hope to show you through the material in this book, that what may seem mysterious and complex right now, is actually very simple; as simple as a young child who “knows” that it is good for their soul’s development to run around outside in the rain giggling and playing around, even while mom and/or dad are yelling at them to get in the house out of the rain before they “come down with something.”

When we are born into a family, it is necessary that the “bio-computer” be “programmed,” so as to be able to function in the world. This does not mean that the early ideas given to us are the only ones there are to run our program throughout our lives. No, we are indeed meant to grow our ideas of ourselves and the world around us. Well, that is if we are to achieve self-actualization.

What is self-actualization? I’ll tell you what it is not. It is not choosing one set of ideas to run your program throughout your life. It is not only being the person you were raised to be. It is not living your life within the parameters defined by our society and culture only.

No, self-actualization means becoming more and more, who and what you truly are inside, as separate and apart from who you were raised to be. Your ideas in your head (the ones which run your program) have to grow and evolve if you are to become the best you that you can be; and once again, this is irrespective of whether or not this is conscious knowledge.

Let me give you a brief example to help make my point more clear. Think of a very young child who is told by their parents to never unlock the door and go outside of the house and play in the front yard (which is unfenced and on a busy street) without mom or dad being with them.

Initially, this framework provides for a safe place to play, explore, grow and develop in. However, if the child grows up to become an adult, and they still hold this idea unchanged in any way, I am quite sure you will agree with me that this is now no longer “beneficial to their continued growth and development.” An overly simplified example yes, but it does make my point very clearly. The ideas that you have within your head, which run your program, must change throughout your life if you are to achieve self-actualization.

What happens to you if you do not achieve self-actualization? Does it mean you will not have a rewarding life? Does it mean you have to start this by a certain age for it to work? Does it mean that you have to consciously process such matters in your life? These questions are not as easily answered as asked.

However, I will say this, someone who does not choose to become the best person they can become can still have a good life, not a great life perhaps, but a good one—or not. It is up to them, by way of the choices they make on a daily basis throughout their life and the “dealing with” or “not dealing with” of the resulting repercussions or ramifications. There is no particular age where it is too late to begin. Even up until the moment of the last breath being taken, the individual human soul can change. You do not have to even consciously process this type of material to have a self-actualized life.

In this book, I hope to “re-introduce” you as the reader, to a part of yourself that you may have “forgotten about.” Like the part of you that you were most familiar with as a very young child. Like the part of you who “knew you were special inside,” and that the world was here to unfold for you. Like the part of you who knew that you were special and unique just because you were alive…

2012; a Changing World, and You – What Does it All Mean?

Ask any adult human being alive today if they have heard of any special significance given to 2012, and almost without exception, they would say “Yes.” All one needs to do is to look around at the current world condition to see the significance of a changing world in 2012. Of course, these changes did not only occur starting in 2012, but have been “brewing” and “set into motion” long before the arrival of 2012.

The almost infamous date of December 21, 2012 has been given much attention in recent times. Indeed, the “alarmists” and “fatalists” have often suggested great and impending doom, or at the very least, major world changes that will leave us all with “undesirable consequences.”

Of course one must find their own interpretations which make sense to them, however, I would like to suggest that perhaps the “very great changes” will NOT be from an outside world imposing its will upon us, but rather, from within the “inner worlds” of each and every person upon the planet as they will “en-masse” bring about very real changes in all of our “outer worlds.”

To say another way, the “old ways” which have been running our world are no longer applicable in the new world changes becoming manifest during the year 2012 and beyond. Of course, those “old ways” did serve good purpose for a very long time upon our planet; they helped grow us as a global community into what we have become. However, that is all changing; “those days are over.”

All over the world, in each individual life, we are all being “served notice” that the time is at hand for us all to “grow new versions of ourselves,” beyond the selves, we are all very familiar. There will indeed be those who will be “afraid” to “let go” of the old ways and make their best good faith attempts at “growing new versions of themselves.” These individuals will (in one way or another) find themselves with “life problems” which will visit them to “get their attention” at the very real need to grow themselves in new ways. In some cases, we will even see increased sickness, ill health, and disease manifest in the lives of these very unfortunate individuals.

In fact, I would not be surprised if we see, a “new disease condition” become more and more recognized in the world around us, as these unfortunate souls “refuse” to take responsibility for their own lives in ways, which would indeed grow them into newer and more improved versions of themselves. Their “refusal” to let go of the old ways will be their “downfall.”

The solution for any soul upon the planet to transition successfully into our new world in 2012 and beyond, is to simply focus upon what is immediately before you in your everyday lives, and find ways to “face your fears” at growing newer and more improved versions of yourself. It really is that simple. However, for those who choose to continue the “old ways,” the coming life changes will not be “welcomed.” It needs to be clarified that whatever each individual chooses to create in their life, it must be that which not only grows a better version of the self, but also that, which affects the lives of others in ways, which do indeed improve the quality of life for all.

Gone are the days of the inequalities in humanity; it is just that this is not clearly seen at present. However, it will most definitely become more and more increasingly clearer in the coming times of 2012 and beyond. Eventually, most everyone will come around to this new way of life, and those who do not, will be “left behind.”

What does it mean to you to bring about a more “spiritual quality” into your life? The answer to this question should be important to you; for this is the way of the future. The old ways of leadership all over the world, which bring about the disempowerment of people, are no longer as viable as they once were. The old ways of “clear lines being drawn,” between those who have the wealth and power, and those who do not, are no longer as viable as they once were. Still, there will indeed be those who will continue to make the attempt at maintaining the old ways; however, in many ways, they are destined for the same fate as the dinosaurs who once roamed our planet millions of years ago (extinction.)

In one’s own immediately present life, there are “choices” to be made at doing your part in creating the changes which are becoming manifest in our world en-masse in 2012 and beyond. These “choices” are not easy, living your life on “auto-pilot” is much easier. These “choices” one needs to make will involve everything from the most simple – to the most complex in nature.

For example, in the very real day-to-day lives of individuals (whether work or long-term relationship related,) there will be some challenging choices to made about growing one’s life into a more fulfilling and satisfying version of itself. Some of these choices will bring about very real changes in lines of work, and in long-term interpersonal relationships (employment, jobs, careers, marriages, etc.) However, know this; those changes will be coming anyway, with or without your conscious participation in the matter.

One can choose to “take the reins” so to speak, and “guide those changes,” or, one can be forced to “deal with the changes” life will force upon them. Your individual life is incredibly important. You did not come here to find yourself in a lifetime created by you, which only gets to a “certain point,” and then you are to stay with this for the remainder of your days. No, that very kind of thinking has gotten our world en-masse to the point where we find it developed to in our current times.

This article is not the place to elaborate in a deep spiritual manner about why there is such a great significance going on in our world in 2012 and beyond. Nevertheless, make no mistake about it, the time is indeed at hand for you to grow new ideas of what is possible for you, and bring those into being within the context of your individual life. By doing this for yourself, you not only will be creating a newer, more fulfilling, and satisfying life for yourself, you will also be helping the others in your lives which are most dear to you to follow your example at bringing a more “spiritual quality” into their own lives.

2012, a changing world, and you; what does it all mean? It means that if you do not find a way to “face your fears” and grow a newer and better version of yourself (for the benefit of you and others,) then rest assured that the changes which will come about in 2012 and beyond, will perhaps prove to be “most unwelcome” and/or “unpleasant” to you.

The answer? It is very simple. Do what you came here to do. You came here to create something of value in the world, which did not exist before your arrival. Whatever this is for you, know that it was never intended for you to only go so far developmentally and stop. In fact, this is why the times of 2012 and beyond are coming. 2012 and beyond is here to “wake you up” to become all that you can be. It is what is right for you individually, and it is what is right for the world globally.

It is your life; how will you decide to proceed in the days to come?

Religion and Spirituality in a Changing World

How important is religion or spirituality in a changing world? No matter whether we are talking about job, career, schooling, family, loved ones, friends, spouse, or what-have-you, how important is religion or spirituality in one’s life?

Try it this way. Can you imagine being at the end of your own very long life on your deathbed; are you ready to walk your path alone to the other side? Do you have any “unfinished business or regrets?” Perhaps the answer to this may help put the opening question into a more clear perspective.

No matter how one chooses to live their life, if it is in a way that does not honor the equality of human life, it is doomed to fail. This is only one reason why we see the world in its global mess. Even here in our own USA, we see the changes occurring because the “controlling and governing forces” whom were directing and running everything did not meet this very basic human need.

Moving forward from here in life, individually and en-masse, we will see the world around us changing in very significant ways during 2012 and beyond. Of course, there will indeed be those who will doggedly try to hang onto the old way of doing things because they were quite often the ones who most benefitted from that way of life; or we see “programming issues” at work here.

However, be advised that the changes will come, because they are already occurring “beneath the surface or behind the scenes.” The time to live your life to the fullest expression possible, which honors the integrity of your own being and that of others, is here at hand. Do not be afraid, confused, or overwhelmed. Do not try to change the world by “outward actions” aimed at changing others.

No, quite simply, the answer you seek is in living your own life from within yourself and in your own frame of reference, by choosing to face your fears and grow yourself in the direction of realizing your own greatest expression possible in life, whatever that may be. It must be understood that what you choose to become, must honor the integrity of your life and all those whom surround you.

This is already occurring now all over the world, you only need to shift your perspective to perceive it. There is something within you, which is waking up to the truth of this I speak about. Of course, you may have you own terminology or way of expressing this, but we are only talking semantics here; “the message” is the same, no matter what the “language.”

If you do not know how to proceed, get started, or continue on your own path in life, ask yourself what is it about you that you are naturally interested in and drawn to? Explore that and move yourself forward. Trust in the creativity and direction, which will come to you from within. It is ok to seek out advice, assistance, guidance, or what-have-you from another; as long as it is in-line with that which you “feel connected.”

Do not be afraid to ask “inappropriate questions” if you find yourself within the tenets of any given religious or spiritual belief system, especially if any of it “doesn’t feel right.” Just because you may see or feel need to make a change which takes you in a new direction, does not mean that what was previously believed in and followed “without question” was wrong. Very likely, the previous belief system was “necessary” to grow you to the point where you find yourself now. Therefore, treat the previous belief system with affectionate regard and not disdain.

Growing the ideas one has within their own psychological and emotional being is not easy. It is perhaps one of the most difficult and challenging things, you will ever attempt, while at the same time, being some of the most rewarding. You were not born to create a life that only grew to a “certain point”; then you would “hang on until the ride was over.” No, you came here to grow yourself in ways not even imaginable at the time of your birth upon this planet. You came here to bring something new into the world we all share; something no one else could.

Of course, you can choose to just “get by” with what you came here to do. However, what position will you be in when you die? Will you find yourself with immense satisfaction at what you chose to do with your life? On the other hand, will you wish you could “do it all over?” Why wait? There is something in you, which wants to find expression in your life. Will you “rationalize” or “find intellectual reason” why you are not able to do this?

It does not matter how you interpret and perceive the subject matter of this article, for all of this is already occurring, and will continue to occur with or without your “conscious participation.” If you want to “chase the fast buck,” or if you want to take advantage of others for your gain and their “naiveté” or “ignorance,” then realize you are working against the natural forces going on in the world at this time; and this does come with a “price tag” not known by you, or you simply would not do it.

Be patient for the life changes you seek, as they will come in their own time, and in their own way. When you consider the context of your entire lifetime, it will perhaps help put some perspective upon the “impatience” you may feel at times. The “wonderful tomorrow” you are looking for is already trying to find you. It is by being focused upon the task immediately before you, while not being afraid to “grow yourself,” that your “very bright future” will find you. Moreover, when it does, you will be changed in the most amazing ways you cannot now possibly imagine…

How to Be Successful in Life: Creating a Life of Greatness

All of us as human beings have been taught “from the cradle on” about how the real world operates, and we are “told” that this reality exists independent from our own ideas of it. Would it surprise you if you learned that after your own death one day this was not true? What if there was “more to the story?” Would it change things for you if you learned that the life you had, was the one you created for yourself out of the ideas in your head? Would you continue to accept your version of reality as being unchangeable because of the ideas handed down or given to you, and for the remainder of your life? If you knew this to be true, would it make any difference in how you would choose to create and live the life you call your own?

Personal responsibility and personal accountability is a very frightening concept to many individuals. However, if you want to have a life of greatness (however, you may define that for yourself) you will have to create it through taking personal responsibility and personal accountability for your life. There is no other way.

Many individuals go through their entire lives by living only a “half-life.” What I am meaning by this is that they are afraid to grow the ideas they have in their heads about who and what they perceive and interpret themselves to be. To be very clear here, growing one’s ideas of one’s self and the world around them will indeed result in life changes. It is your choice. You can create the changes you then choose to respond to, or you will be forced to deal with the changes life imposes upon you. It all depends upon your “life focus.”

In a manner of speaking, there are two types of individuals on the planet at this time. There are those who accept average and ordinary lives, and then there are those who create lives of greatness. Each type of individual will be absolutely convinced of the reality of their life’s expression. To say it another way, in all areas of their life, they will know that what they have, and what they can have is what they are realistically capable of. Therefore, the real question becomes what does “realistically capable of” mean?

Those who create lives of greatness know that they are the one who determines what they are capable of. Whereas those who accept lives, which are average and ordinary, allow life itself to determine for them what they are capable of. Those who create lives of greatness are not afraid of “stretching themselves developmentally out of their comfort zone,” in terms of growing the ideas in their head. Only the average and ordinary life finds comfort in staying true to what is already known, in terms of “accepting reality.”

If you find yourself, desiring something which is “not realistically possible” to go after, ask yourself the question “Why is it not realistically possible to achieve?” Asking this question of yourself over time, while being “quiet inside with an open mind,” may bring you a surprising answer. Sometimes in life, we are actually meant to not succeed in something we are attempting to create new in our lives. The reason for this is that we sometimes have to “develop something within ourselves first,” and this hypothetical “failure” is a part of that process.

Let me say this another way. No matter what the results you may find yourself experiencing of your attempted creations, know that it is all good. Why? Because it will teach you something about yourself and life that you will need when you get where it is you are attempting to go. Therefore, do not wait. Right now today, take a developmental step forward in a new direction in your life. From the outside, it may appear that you are doing the same things, but from within, something is different now. You are serving notice to your inner self that you are working on developing your life forward in the direction of the life of greatness you came here to have.

If you care about yourself, and if you care about any loved ones in your life, then rise up to the challenge of what you came here to do. You did not come here to have a life that is average and ordinary. You came here to challenge yourself to grow beyond the ideas of yourself and the world around you to create a life of greatness (so that we all may benefit from that.)

This article here is not the place for me to elaborate deeply on the fact that our world is changing in profound ways. You are changing in profound ways. You only need to open your eyes and look around with the open-mindedness of a non-judgmental child to see the truth of this. All over the world, people are seeking out those who would “lead the way” by the very example of living their own life to the fullest expression possible. It really is that simple. The greatest thing you can do to help our world (I trust this is important to you) is for you to “face your fears” and grow your ideas of what you believe is possible for you.

I do not know how to convince you that the life you are presently living is not all that you came here to be. What is it about you that is of interest to you right now in your life? What is it about your life right now that you would like to change? Pretend for a moment that you had the power to do anything you wanted to with your life, what would that be? The answer to that question is what you need to start on today by taking a first step (or continuing) in the direction of that picture.

If you are not sure how to get started or continue, I am sure you know how not to get started or continue. Use this if need be as a “tuning fork” as you move forward. No matter who you are, or what you choose to do, if it is from a space within you attempting to create your life of greatness, by way of growing yourself forward in this respect, know there is no greater life work with which to be involved.

Trust yourself. Trust your creativity. Trust in your own direction. Trust that all you need will come to you, in one way or another. No one ever said adulthood was supposed to be easy and free of any challenges or difficulties. By the same token, no one ever said once you become an adult that you are finished “growing.”

If you wish to have a life of greatness, the choice is yours. If you will accept a life that is or will become average and ordinary, the choice is also yours. The world needs the greatness you have within you. En-masse the world over, this is how we save the future of our world for our children, grandchildren, and beyond. Ask yourself, if this is too difficult for you to attempt in your life, what are you teaching the loved ones who surround you in your life?

Do you teach them by the example of your life, how to create a life of greatness by always growing the best version of yourself possible? Or, on the other hand, do you teach them how to create a life that is average and ordinary because you live your life on “auto-pilot?”

Transforming Your Life Through Personal Growth and Development

Ask any human being if they could have more in their life, and they would most often answer “yes.” The real question then becomes, what does “more” mean? To many, it means having more money, and more freedom with their time. In short, most everyone desires to have a life of more possibility in terms of “success.” The ways in which that time, money, and energy would be spent reflect the “true passions” of the individuals living that life.

Do you think it is realistically possible to create the life of your dreams? Most individuals believe one is better served by “working with the cards they have been dealt in life.” These same individuals believe they are being “more realistic” in their assessment than those who chase after unrealistic and unachievable “pipe-dreams.” What about it, do you think it is possible to “write your own ticket in life?”

Consider this: if it is possible to create the life of your dreams, exactly how do you go about that? The answer could be stated in many different ways, however, it is true that without growing and developing one’s self as a person (with all that implies,) it is highly doubtful the life will grow beyond “established parameters.”

To say another way: without the personal growth and development of an individual human life, it is highly improbable that any significant and measurable degree of self-realization through the process of self-actualization will ever take the individual beyond the “station they were born to in life.”

On the other hand: if the individual living the lifetime can find the ways and means to grow themselves beyond the ideas given or handed down to them by their family, society, and culture, then there is the very real possibility of achieving a life of greatness; beyond the “station they were born to in life.”

It is a most wonderful time to be alive in our present-day and age upon this planet. If for no other reason, the access we all have to resources never before available to untold previous generations back through time, gives any of us the “tools” to “create the life of our dreams.”

However, the working out of this is much more involved than meets the eye on the surface of things. For example, whatever it is that one desires to create in the life, realize that “attached” to that desire comes something else known as “fear.” I put “fear” in quotes because I am quite sure the individual involved would not perceive and interpret the matter as such. From the perspective of these individuals, those desires and the thing it is attached to would be seen as “realistic obstacles” or “reasons why those desires are not possible.”

No matter how the matter is perceived, it does not change the fact that in order to attempt going after those desires, that there are indeed “internal conflicts” which come about in the process. In order to manifest the things desired in life, every human being must face and truly deal with those “internal conflicts” without “coming to terms with reality,” or the like; which is “code” for “not wanting to face and deal with those internal conflicts or fears.”

The key to changing all of this, and to actually be able to transform your life into whatever you truly want, is to find the ways and means to increase your confidence in yourself; in terms of what is possible in your life. Personal growth and development of the individual is the “saving grace” here.

Open yourself up to the possibility of finding what you need to grow your ideas of yourself and the world around you, through the countless resources available to you at this time on our planet. The internet, bookstores, libraries, you-name-it; find what you are interested in and go after it with a passion. Do not listen to the “old programming issues within you.” Challenge what you know to be true to you about yourself, and the world around you.

If you need to learn from someone else, then do it. If you are able to “go it alone,” that is ok too. The point is to grow the ideas you have in your head (your earlier life programming) which causes you to perceive and interpret your life the way you do. The ideas from your “earlier programming” may sound or feel like your “voice of conscience,” but always remember those ideas may have been put there by other individuals in your life, which you accepted at the time. This does not mean you cannot change those ideas.

Those earlier ideas given and handed down to you were never meant to be all that you were to operate with during the full reign of your life. No, they were given and handed down to you to enable you to get to a “certain point only” in your life, the “rest is up to you.”

If it is too much to consider the possibility of having the power to create the life of your dreams, then do not. Many, many individuals over time throughout the life come to a state of “passive acquiescence.” There is nothing wrong in this. However, there are also those individuals who are not afraid to discover what they might learn about their true potential in life; and it is these individuals I speak to here in this article.

Find whatever ways and means to grow your ideas of yourself and the world around you, for this is a key to improving your self-confidence and self-esteem. Armed with these things, you will find the reasons to become and stay motivated to strive for positive and constructive changes in your life. Armed with these things, you will find yourself creating and living in the life of your dreams…

What is the Purpose of Your Life: Why Are You Here?

The approximate “age” of a soul is oftentimes indicated by the very nature of the questions asked in the life. For example, when one asks of themselves “What is the purpose of my life, and why am I here? “ Well, rest assured we are considering an older soul here, rather than a younger one. The purpose of this article is to challenge its readers to expand their physical and non-physical minds beyond currently held ideas.

Souls who are much “younger in age” will have no need to be concerned with the nature of this article’s subject matter. For these souls, “other concerns” are of primary importance. However, for an “older soul,” the nature of this article’s subject matter is indeed of “prime importance” in the life.

Know that it is never “too late” to bring about desired changes into the life; even up to the moment of the last physical breath taken, the human soul can change. The life being lived currently is no accident. It is that which the individual them self has created, even if they are simply not aware of it. In fact, the very conditions of one’s present life are actually “where the magic is,” in terms of the resources available to transform the life more “in-line” with one’s true purpose in life.

All that has come before in the life is “necessary” in developing the individual to a point where they may begin to ask questions of themselves similar to that of this article. There is no definite pattern here, for every life is quite individual and unique; one has only to look around to observe the truth of this. Still, there are indeed “similarities” or “commonalities” which we all share as the spiritual human beings that we are, and it is upon this level here that this article will focus upon.

The “older soul” does not come here to have a life of no difficulty, challenge, or obstacles to overcome. Quite the contrary, the “older soul” comes here to grow beyond all these concerns by transcending the self-imposed limitations accepted out of ignorance and lack of understanding. When done successfully, the life is lived in such a way as to not only benefit the individual, but also the lives of all those others who surround them as well.

While human beings are raised in a certain manner most definitely, they use the resulting “programming” to grow and develop as far as possible, but only to a “certain point.” It is from this point in the life that there is something within the nature of the person, which will begin to ask the question “What is the purpose of my life; why am I here?”

Of course, each individual will experience this in his or her own way. For some, it will be more of a “feeling” than a “thinking” thing. Realize that this is a direct communication from the eternal part of one’s own very “essence” trying to “remind them of why they came here to be born.” The ways and means in which one may manifest the “working out” of this matter is possible in as many ways as there are human beings present upon our planet.

By striving for a life of excellence through the art of becoming, the very life itself is transformed in-line with the nature of the life’s purpose. This very definitely means, “growing up, confronting, and transcending one’s fears” to take them beyond the “programming” of the earlier part of the life; there is simply no other way. To experience a life of self-realized greatness, the individual human soul has to create this process by their self-directed efforts. This is the art of self-actualization.

The greatest guidance and support needed and desired will come from within the individual, if they will trust in their creativity to show them the way to a life of greatness. It is in knowing that the individual becomes greater with age, which enables this to occur. The best part of one’s life is still yet to come; only “old programming issues” will tell one this is a lie.

As one begins to question the ideas, they hold within them, they are serving notice to a deeper part of themselves that they are ready to begin or continue on this path. It is almost beyond verbalization to try to explain the joys and rewards of this process, however, know that they will indeed manifest in the life.

As others observe from the “outside looking in,” they will regard them as simply being “lucky” to have the life they are experiencing; but the older soul knows different. For they are aware that living a life of greatness is accomplished through the art of one’s personal excellence; because they chose to face their fears and overcome old programming issues which would try to hold them back from becoming all that they came to be.

The successful living of one’s life is the greatest lesson, which can be taught to others, both the positive and negative ones. By being the best at what one can become, they automatically help others. Being true to them self, they are actually able to support and encourage others in their lives, for they are not threatened or jealous of anyone’s accomplishments.

The sheer and absolute power of love, and its triumph over fear, is why the older soul comes to be here. The joys and rewards this will bring into the life are beyond measure. For In the end, the responsibility and accountability for the life belongs to the individual living that life, as they are the one who must walk their path when they die.

Once again, what is the purpose of your life, and why are you here? If you can find a way to transcend your fears, you will find that life has something quite wonderful to teach you…

Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem: A Life of Success Through Overcoming Fear

Living a life without self-confidence or good self-esteem is one common way that others allow fear to “rule the show” in their lives. Fear is a concept, which indeed means many different things to many different people. However, most often the individual gives little thought (if any) to whether or not fear may be at work distorting perceptions from within the psychological and emotional being.

Ask any human being alive if they would like to have a life, which is greater, and more fulfilling that what they are presently involved with, and almost without fail you will find the answer is “yes.” Unfortunately, for many of those same individuals you would find that their own lack of self-confidence or lack of self-esteem keeps them from ever manifesting that which they truly desire.

If that is not enough, this concept of fear will go much deeper in the life as it affects many other aspects of it. Fear will even prevent some individuals from ever recognizing trust in terms of intra-personal and/or inter-personal relationships, particularly when relating to intimacy.

Fear is the anti-thesis to love, and as such, it is the most seductive force in the universe, which is not a good thing. For example, fear will distort perceptions from within the psychological and emotional being of an individual, and then fear will reinforce those distortions created. Finally, fear will completely mask the actuality of life itself, if the individual “allows it.” Quite often, the individual will think and feel they are being “realistic,” or that they have “matters under control.”

Take the example of one who believes it is not in their best interest to associate with another human being simply because their religious, spiritual, or philosophical beliefs are different from theirs. (They think this association might “taint them somehow” or “interfere with their relationship with Christ” for example.) Other examples include those who are in different social and economic groups who fear being “contaminated,” “made less,” or “what-have-you” by these obviously “lesser souls.” This list goes on and on…

Fear also holds others back from going after their desires or wishes because they are afraid to confront the “conflicts within” which are brought about because of fear’s connection in polarity to anything which is desired or wished for. If the individual were being candid, they would acknowledge that actually bringing about their desires would result in “changes” which they are not sure “they can handle” or “want to deal with.”

Fear is at the heart and soul of all those on the planet who are often perceived and interpreted as “evil.” In actuality, we are looking at those who made choices from a distorted space of fear, which then reinforced the distorted perceptions created, and then progressed to the point where the mind psychologically and emotionally became “closed” to the real actuality of the life. Furthermore, these souls abdicated their responsibility and accountability for their choices to an “externalized deity”; by whatever name they call it.

Self-confidence and self-esteem are the keys to breaking this very unproductive cycle of creating the life through fear, rather than love. Whatever can be done in the life which is healthy, to promote good self-confidence and good self-esteem is very good work spiritually; for this is what enables the individual to create and achieve those things desired or wished for in the life. In intra-personal and/or inter-personal relationships, where trust is crucial to the continued growth and development of the relationship, self-confidence and good self-esteem are critical in achieving success on this level.

As for those individuals who commit horrific crimes against another (which again is often perceived and interpreted as “evil”) we would find in many of these cases that much improved self-confidence and good self-esteem would have mitigated or lessened the terrible crimes from occurring, if not having prevented them altogether of course. Indeed, there are exceptions here, but this article is not the place to discuss them.

Fear will hold people back from going after what they truly desire in life, and then they will rationalize to themselves why they are “justified” in not actually going after the thing initially desired. Fear keeps one from approaching their superiors. Fear keeps one from “bridging the gap towards physical intimacy with another.” Fear keeps one from achieving a life of greatness by rationalizing a life of mediocrity. I mean really, I could just go on all day about the things fear holds one back from.

What is the solution? Well, one more time; anything that builds self-confidence and good self-esteem is the key to stepping out of a life based in fear, to one that is based in love. When the life is lived from a space of love predominately, we will find those individuals who are “having the times of their lives.” In these instances, the life becomes so “blessed” that they simply cannot help but be excited about what tomorrow brings as they eagerly arise each morning to great the new day; and for the remainder of the lifetime, the best part of their lives are ahead of them, not behind. They live a daily life based in gratitude.

In the end, self-confidence and self-esteem are the keys to a life of success through overcoming one’s fears…

Spiritual Growth and Development: A Means of Personal Development in Becoming a True Human Being

The spiritual growth and development of an individual is a means of personal development in becoming a true human being; in many ways, this is why we come to be here on this planet.

One of our greatest challenges is to expand or enlarge the beliefs that we do carry within our psychological make-ups, which represent the boundaries or limits of possible life experiences. After all, how can one grow beyond their beliefs that surround them like fences if they do not even know they are there?

Meeting the challenge of expanding or enlarging one’s beliefs will cause them to improve the quality of their lives, and that of others, simply by becoming the best version of themselves they can be. One’s identity is indeed much greater than what they see in a mirror.

As any human being goes through their lives measuring their experiences by the “voice of their own conscience,” remember that this voice may speak to them with the “voices” of their own mothers, fathers, grandparents, adult caregivers, teachers, religious leaders, spiritual teachers, and so forth. The voice is their own or course, but the ideas behind it may not be.

All of those earlier individuals helped shape them into the person he or she eventually became. This was out of a loving concern with their ideas of what was best for the world around them. These accepted earlier experiences were indeed perceived and interpreted at the time as being “what was right.” Nonetheless, one-day it becomes the responsibility of the individual living their lives to grow one’s own “voice of conscience” to guide them in the remainder of their life.

This process is similar to that of a very young child who accepts the ideas given to them by his or her parents because the child believes the parents always to be right and somehow perfect. Later as a much older child, they become almost shocked to learn of his or her parents not only being sometimes wrong, but also imperfect as well.

Furthermore, they gradually begin to perceive and interpret the older generations in general as being somehow outdated, inferior, callous, and doing everything “wrong.” Nevertheless, those “interpretations” are what are used to help free the older child from the earlier concepts used to grow up with. In addition, this all provides the challenge to tackle personal problems and move out into the real world on their own.

Realize that the new adult who starts out on his or her own brings that “voice of conscience” from the earlier experiences. In addition, for a while to come the new adult possesses the belief of being invincible somehow, quite literally beyond the boundaries of life itself. Without a doubt, it is this very quality, which provides the necessary drive to endow them with the strength and energy for beginning a new life and forming a new world experience.

Later in the life as they become a “seasoned life veteran,” there does indeed come a time when they may begin to reassess or reconsider what they have carried within their own psychological and emotional being throughout the life thus far,

and this is the focus of this article.

As they approach this point in the life, they often will come to sense “something significant happening” as they begin to question, and then to grow their own “voice of conscience.”
In the same way that an older child “sheds” the childish concepts of earlier, this older and wiser adult “sheds” the outgrown concepts of the younger adulthood. Denying this stage of personal development will effectively hold them back from self-actualization.

In life, one of our greatest challenges is grow beyond that which we were “raised to be,” by creating our most self-realized life possible. It is only by doing this that we reach a point in our lives where we will continue to grow and develop as an individual. This is how we use our spiritual and developmental growth as a means of personal development in becoming a true human being.

The Meaning of Life: Living One’s Life on Purpose

The life that one finds themselves with is the life that in one way or another, they have “chosen;” even if in ways in which he or she does not presently understand. The experiences and conditions of the lifetime are of one’s own “creation.” Quite often, this “choosing” is more from an unconscious space than conscious awareness; life does not have to be this way.

A person creates his or her own reality by way of “translating” the life energy into one’s own thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc. This is by way of one’s own dreams, hopes, wishes, intents, expectations, doubts, fears, insecurities, successes, failures, and all the rest of what is humanly possible. These things “direct the processes” by which the conditions and experiences of one’s life comes about.

The actual “mechanics” are unconscious; however, they work directly in line with one’s beliefs about which they perceive and interpret themselves to be, and the world at large. There is a “greater and eternal part of everyone,” which knows why the individual comes to be here on this planet. This part of the individual is the “eternal force” from within the self, but it does not “control the show”; this responsibility belongs to the personality living the lifetime.

For ease of purpose in communicating here in this article, this greater and eternal part of one’s self (or one’s “essence”) is the eternal identity of the individual beyond the context of one single lifetime. The individual’s essence is the power that helps form the life, and it follows the “directions” given to it by the personality; by way of the “things” mentioned previously. To say another way, the “mechanics” of these “processes” are unconscious, but their “direction by the personality” is not. Intuitively getting the meaning here is integral to the understanding of this article.

In the seemingly insignificant choices, the personality makes on a daily basis, moment-by-moment throughout their lifetime, the life forms. As the mind focuses upon on what it knows to be true about the individual and the world around them, the essence “listens” and helps brings about the desired life experiences without qualification, in its closest approximation. Remember that this last part is most often unconscious, as far as the person is concerned, but not the first part.

The living of one’s life brings lessons to bear in it that supports the growth and understanding of not only the individual, but also of every other soul met during the life. In larger terms, it is one’s essence, which is “keeping the score” on the individual living the lifetime. The individual living the lifetime will answer to this “part of themselves,” in their own time, and in their own way. Know that one’s essence does not accept excuses, for this eternal part of the individual perceives without distortion in the “afterlife.”

The essence of an individual soul is aware of everything done by the personality living the particular lifetime. Please understand that for the purposes of simple communication, this article speaks as if there is some imaginary line drawn between where the personality and one’s essence exists, but there is no such line. Know that there are no arbitrary divisions within the nature of the individual; this article separates them only for the purpose of effective communication.

One’s essence from which they “emerged or grew” is just as much a part of the individual right now, as their own thoughts, feelings, and emotions. The individual is a complete and integrated “whole”; all parts of the being are spiritual, not just the essence. To consider the “higher planes of existence” is just as spiritual of an experience as that of preparing a meal, cleaning the house, having fun, or any other humanly possible experience. Everyone has his or her own ideas about physical life, and that of the “larger picture” as well; this is one reason only why there are so many “teachers” in life.

Therefore, while there are many, many different “teachings” available to any given person to help him or her understand it all, the accepted teachings are nothing more than that which serves a good purpose at the particular time in their life. It is that which helps them get to the “next point of development” in their soul’s evolution.

As the individuals question and validate for themselves the usefulness of a particular spiritual teaching (and they should) one day they may find that it is time for them to move on to their “next level of learning.” It is as the particular person grows and develops that their understanding of their perceptions and interpretations is what will lead them where it is they wish to be.

Since spiritual teachings are interpretations in the attempt to try to explain the “larger picture,” it is no wonder that they are different or that they too change. For this reason, please do try to find a way to become tolerant of the religious or spiritual beliefs that any given soul may choose to follow in their life at any given time. There are teachers and teachings available at all levels of the soul’s spiritual evolutionary path.

The perceptions and interpretations of the various teachers may indeed disagree, and this brings about real differences in their available material. The only problem with any of this, is when any person soul thinks that their way is the only truth (in capital letters) and that anyone else’s way is wrong (in capital letters.) Simply put, these particular individuals believe that any way, which does not follow theirs, is wrong. These individuals believe there is only one path to the goal of human understanding; and this simply is not true.

For any individual to conduct his or her life in this way is not good work spiritually. However, even here we find purpose; if for no other reason than to learn the “lesson that this teaches.” In these cases, most often this would not occur until AFTER the individual’s “death experience and beyond.”

In the end, it is the individual human soul, which must find their way to the meaning of life, by way of living that life “on purpose.”

What’s This Life For?

All over the world, at this very moment, billions of human beings are “doing their thing.” As I think about this, I wonder; what’s this life for?

Realize that how you answer this question for yourself is not only indicative of the life you will live, but also of your own “death experience” and “beyond” as well.

What if you knew that how you answered this question for yourself would define the very potential of your life’s possibilities? What if you lived your life as if you would have after having gained the knowledge from “reviewing” your life after it was over? How the life you had was the one you “created,” and how it “impacted” others’ lives? Would this make a difference in the daily choices you make now? Why?

Know that there is a part of you which was born “knowing” the part of the world you were born into was “ready” for you to come into it. You were to come here and grow into your “most realized self;” irrespective of whether or not you were conscious of this “process” or not. You were, and still are, to “grow your own value fulfillment.”

When we are first born into a family, it is necessary that the “bio-computer” be “programmed,” so as to be able to “function in the world.” This does not mean that the early ideas given to us are the only ones there are to run our “program” throughout our lives. No, we are indeed “meant to grow” our ideas of ourselves and the world around us. Well, that is if we are to achieve self-actualization.

Self-actualization means becoming more and more, who and what you truly are inside, as separate and apart from who you were “raised to be.” Your ideas in your head –the ones which run your “program”- have to grow and evolve if you are to become the best you that you can be; and this is irrespective of whether or not this is conscious knowledge.

There is someone special in your life; someone who wants to see you succeed. And, this person has an inexhaustible creativity, as well as access to unlimited resources to bring to bear at helping you to achieve whatever it is that is important to you.

You already know this person in your life, although you may not fully recognize them for who they truly are. It’s almost as if you may have taken this person for granted; however, you can change this…

Go look in the mirror and remind yourself of just who it actually is who holds the “key” to your greatest accomplishments, AND who is your greatest source of assistance while here on the physical plane.

Do something TODAY to honor yourself as you work on becoming the best version of you that you can become.

A “single step” forward is all it takes to pay tribute to this new day in your life. Remember, it has been said before that “the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.”
